Drink the love
Its gonna be a freaking long post okay.
Serious.
Before I start, I wanna dedicate my blogsong to someone(:
Ucapkanlah kasih..
Satu kata yang kunantikan
Sebab ku tak mampu membaca matamu
Mendengar bisikmu
Nyanyikanlah kasih..
Senandung kata hatimu
Sebab ku tak sanggup mengartikan getar ini
Sebab ku meragu pada dirimu
Mengapa berat ungkapkan cinta
Padahal ia terasa
Dalam rindu dendam, hening malam
cinta .... terasa ada ....
Nyanyikanlah kasih..
Senandung kata hatimu
Sebab ku tak sanggup mengartikan getar ini
Sebab ku meragu pada dirimu
Mengapa berat ungkapkan cinta
Padahal ia terasa
Dalam rindu dendam, hening malam
cinta ... terasa ada ....
Mengapa berat ungkapkan cinta
Padahal ia ada
Dalam rinai hujan, dalam terang bulan
juga dalam sedu sedan ...
Mengapa sulit mengaku cinta
Padahal ia terasa
Dalam rindu dendam, hening malam
cinta ... terasa ada ...
;))
080808 was our class outing/bbq/sleepover at Pasir Ris Park!
It was UBER fun, although I was feeling horrible in the evening.
Lets see if I can still remember.
Well, Amanda came to my house for breakfast, and I prepared 2 buttered toasts for my dear dear Weeleng.
Went to Jurong MRT station to wait for the rest..
Dina and Faizal were there already.
Faizal's guitar SUPER nice! :D
Then soon everyone started to come.
One whole big group sia.
2 classes what(:
But not everybody went.
So anyway, went to Pasir Ris lorrr...
FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER END CAN?
Didn't really know how to get to Pasir Ris park but we did in the end.
But wasted ALOT of time.
Reached there, played, slacked.
I'll post pictures soon if I have.
*Checks cellphone*
Okay damnit I somehow lost them.
Oh wait I didnt even take pics.
LOLLL.
Forget it then.
=x
So uhm, the rest started to change to their casual clothes.
I wanted to pick seashells.
Amanda and Weeleng were like saying there's none here.
But I insisted to go see.
AND I FOUND ALOT OF PRETTY SEASHELLS OKAYYY!
I quickly picked up anything I found and rinsed it and put them in my bag.
I shall take a picture of them now.
*Takes cellphone and bag into the room*
Be right back.
Im done!
Here it is!

Pretty right? :D
I'm gonna put them in this little special pink box that my mother gave me on my 6th birthday.
Well, you see, my mother bought 2 little pink porcelain boxes for me to put something special inside.
One box is heart shaped, the other is square shaped.
When I showed her the two little boxes today, filled with something special to me, she was rather shocked.
The heart shaped box.

And inside it....

:D
Zoom in more.

Plain old rocks I picked up in Kukup, my second home.
At my grandmother's kampung house outside.
I picked them when I was 8 or 9.
Rinsed them over and over again and put them in my pocket.
Why?
Whenever I look at them, and feel them, there's this unexplainable calmness that embraces me,
and I love it(:
Secondly, it really reminds me of my other side of my family.
I know I don't usually visit that other side of my family, but they really mean alot to me.
They are of utmost importance in my life too okay.
Without them, I dont know where and what I would be.
Aku sangat cinta nenek!
Aku sangat cinta nenek lelaki!:D
Lol.
The square shaped box was empty for quite a few years.
And today, I finally found something memorable to put in.

Yup, yesterday's seashells.
Yes, my secondary classmates for 4 years.
They made my secondary school life a happy and memorable one.
I love you guys.

After filling em up, there's 2 kinds of plastic bags that we used.

Then the girls suggested that we go take some and throw at the guys first.
First guy that popped into my evil mind:

I tried to throw at him, but fail lah.
My aiming really pajiao de lor.

Only managed to hit his leg.
The rest also tried to throw at others but failed also.
Guys volunteered to carry the bags for us.
We know they want revenge lor!

But no choice, we no strength.
Then suddenly, when I was just standing around,
Got something BIG and HEAVY hit my back.
PAIN LIKE FUCK CAN.
I turned around, my whole back drenching wet.
FUCK YOU NESTOR, FUCK YOU.
The rest of the class were like "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~~~"
Then it started.
Everyone started to throw bombs at each other for awhile.
Had loads of fun!
Then Nestor made a few rules and stuff, and he said he distribute the bombs to us.
Each person 2 bombs.
I accidentally dropped one, then he gimme this DAMN SMALL LEAKING ONE CAN?
LOL.
Stupid stingy no balls.
Amanda and Weeeleng was like laughing like @#$#%@$^#%&^$!@#$#%.
We rested awhile though.
Huiyun and the rest arrived.
We girls played Murderer, and ate a little food.
LOL DINA LIKE FATED TO BE MURDERER.
LOLLLLLLLLLLLL.
SHE ALWAYS MURDERER ONE LOR.
Got one time both of us were murderers.
Then she tried to "kill" me.
Then I tried to "kill" her back.
No effect on both of us.
LOL THEN WE GIVE EACH OTHER THIS EVIL SMIRK.
LOLLLLLLLLL.
Guys ate and played soccer.
After some time, we grew bored and decided to take some bombs to hit the guys again in the field.
Chased, screamed, and got high.

At first, it was only Jocelyn and the rest who were drenching.
Then Jocelyn came up to me, and smiled.
Then she poured water over my head till I'm soaking wet.
I was laughing.

I grabbed another bottle of water, and went up to her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me: Cheers!
Jocelyn: YAY CHEERS!
Both of us poured water over each other's heads.

And she joined in.

By like half an hour, everyone was drenching wet except for Jasmine, coz her shirt was white and we didn't want to embarrass her.
Lol.
=x
We kept running to and fro to the toilet and back to refill our bottles with tap water to pour other each other.
Dried up after some time, and played Faizal's guitar(:
Then we started the BBQ.
We spent one hour plus to start the fire.
-.-
Then Mrs Seah came!
Thanks to Mrs Seah's help, we managed to start the fire!
Thanks Mrs Seah!
I wanted to bbq for the rest, but the boys didn't believe I would be of much help and told me not to.
Especially Nestor and Khan.
Gggrrr.
Then I didn't care, and I showed them.

Turns out everyone likes my bbqing and Hilman's satays!
MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH I ROCK.

But I was feeling horrible by then.
I didn't feel like eating, the bbq smoke was like disturbing my eyes.
My eyes were slightly red and watery and my face was a little pink.
I didn't feel like eating, I felt like throwing up.
Amanda and Weeleng were standing at the pit watching me and accompanying me the WHOLE time, asking me whether I was hungry or thirsty and persuading me to eat at least a little.
Thanks darlings, it touches my heart to see how concerned you both are(:
Thanks Dina too! I love you(: And thanks for checking on me every once in a while to make sure I'm fine(:
Thanks Hilman and Rama for forcing me to stop bbqing and rest and eat a little.
Thanks for caring(: Really.
After two hours of non stop barbequeing, Amanda and Weeleng managed to pull me away from the pit to rest and shower.
Showered and kept throwing soaps over the walls to each other's cubicles to share LOLOLOL.
Kept talking too, coz we were scared.
:P
Done, felt much better but still no appetite.
Dina went home.
Hung out with Amanda, Weeleng, Nestor, Huiyun and a few others.

In the end, I didn't eat anything except for 3 sticks of satay that Nestor made me eat by force.
Thanks no balls.
Went to Cheers! to buy Red Bull to last us for the night.
After drinking, we were pretty high but stopped soon coz it's really getting boring.
Most of them went cycling to OCH and only a few of us were left to takecare of our stuffs.
We were scared and bored.
Nadhirah slept.
We played poker and chit chatted with the rest for some time.
We walked Huiyun back to the entrance of the Park coz her dad fetching her.
We played poker the WHOLE night lor.
I was so bloody bored I slept for an hour or so.
Woke up, at 4plus.
Slacked, play poker again.

Slept in the MRT.
Reached home at 8plus, and slept all the way till 4pm.
Lol.
And here I am, blogging.
Oh yeah, some people has been asking me how come I know how to speak Malay and follow some of Malay's culture.
Since I'm so free today..
I shall tell you why!
This is because I'm a
Peranakan a.k.a
Nyonya.Some information about us:
Peranakan, Baba-Nyonya are terms used for the descendants of the very early Chinese immigrants to the Nusantara region, including both the British Straits Settlements of Malaya and the Dutch-controlled island of Java among other places, who have partially adopted Malay customs in an effort (chronological adaptation) to be assimilated into the local communities.
'Peranakan' means 'descendants'. Babas refer to the male descendants and the Nyonyas the female. The word
nyonya (also commonly spelled
nonya) may originate from the Portuguese word
dona, which means 'lady'.
Ancestry: Most Peranakan are of Hokkien ancestry, although a sizable number are of Teochew or Cantonese descent. Originally, the Peranakan were part Chinese, part Malay, and part descended from the original inhabitants of Singapore Island.
Language: The language of the Peranakans, Baba Malay (
Bahasa Melayu Baba), is a dialect of the Malay Language (
Bahasa Melayu), which contains many Hokkien words It is a dying language, and its contemporary use is mainly limited to members of the older generation; this is indicative also of the Peranakan culture at large.
History: According to traditional accounts, in 1459 CE, the Emperor of China sent a princess, Hang Li Po, to the Sultan of Malacca, as a token of appreciation for his tribute. The royalty and servants who accompanied the princess initially settled in Bukit Cina and eventually grew into a class of straits-born Chinese known as the Peranakan. The Peranakan retained most of their ethnic and religious origins (ancestor worship), but assimilated the language and culture of the Malays. They developed a unique culture and distinct foods. Over the centuries, the Peranakans have evolved a unique culture that maintains many Chinese traditions, such as celebrating the Lunar New Year and the Lantern Festival, while adopting the customs of the land they settled in, as well as those of their successive colonial rulers. There are traces of Portuguese, Dutch, British, Malay and Indonesian influences in Baba culture.
By the middle of the twentieth century, most Peranakan were English educated, as a result of the British colonisation of Malaya, and the natural propensity of these people who were able to easily embrace new cultures. Because the Peranakans readily embraced English culture and education, administrative and civil service posts were often filled by prominent Straits Chinese. The Peranakan community thereby became very influential in Malacca and Singapore, and were known also as the
King's Chinese due to their perceived loyalty to the British Crown. Because of the interaction of the different cultures and languages that Peranakans had, most Peranakans were (and still are) trilingual, being able to converse with Chinese, Malays and the British. Common vocations were as merchants, traders, and general intermediaries between China, Malaya and the West; the latter was especially valued by the British, since the Babas also enjoyed good relations with the Malay community and served as advisors to the royal Malay courts.
Culture: The Peranakans were partially assimilated into the Malay culture (especially in food, dress, and language), while retaining some Chinese traditions (religion, name, and ethnic identity), thereby creating a fusion culture of their own. Proposals of marriage were made by a gift of a "pinangan", a 2-tiered lacquered basket to the intended bride's parents brought by a go-between person who will speak on behalf of the suitor. However, most of the Peranakans are not Muslim, and have retained the traditions of ancestor worship of the Chinese; though some converted to Christianity. The wedding ceremony of the Peranakan is largely based on Chinese tradition, and is one of the most colorful and fascinating wedding ceremonies in Malaysia and Singapore.
Peranakan culture is disappearing. Without colonial British support for their perceived racial neutrality, government policies in both countries following independence from the British have resulted in the assimilation of Peranakans back into mainstream Chinese culture. In Singapore, the Peranakans are classified as ethnically Chinese, so they receive formal instruction in Mandarin Chinese as a second language (in accordance with the "Mother Tongue Policy") instead of Malay. In Malaysia, the standardization of Malay as Bahasa Malayu, required for all ethnic groups — has led to a disappearance of the unique characteristics of Baba Malay. The last paragraph is damn true.
My Chinese sucks but I have to choose it for my Mother Tongue what the hell.
Why can't I choose Malay?
Things would be much easier for me.
-.-
I'm proud to be a Nyonya(:Told you it was a really long post!
:D
I hope this information answers your questions(:
Last of all, Happy birthday Singapore.
Lol.
:)
Bye.
