"On 18 August 2010, Wednesday, at about 7.40pm,
an unnamed Pomeranian dog was killed brutally
by an unknown man at the void deck of Block 267B Compassvale Link.
A witness said that the man was picking up the dog
and throwing it onto the floor over and over again -
for at least 10 times.
This lasted for more than 10 minutes.
The dog cried out in pain at first,
after awhile,
there was silence.
The dog's face was soaked in blood
and the concrete slabs and floor of the void deck bore blood stains.
This is evidence of the cruelty the animal suffered.
In Singapore, cruelty to animals is a crime.
Under the Animals and Birds Act, anyone who is found guilty of such an offence
including abandonment of any animal,
can be imprisoned for up to 12 months,
fined up to $10,000, or both.
However, in this particular case,
it is more than just cruelty.
The man has showed a blatant disregard of the law
and displayed his aggression to a poor, defenseless animal
openly in the public,
whilst under the watchful eyes of witnesses around.
Nobody went forward to stop his act of aggression
as they feared being attacked by him.
This man must be punished by the law for his aggression
may go out of control and his next victim may be a young and defenseless child.
Even if the maximum punishment of one year imprisonment
and a $10,000 fine is imposed,
it is too light a sentence for a man who has a lack of respect for life itself.
If such an act of aggression is let off lightly,
what kind of message are we sending to the public
and what kind of society would we be seen as by other countries?
We, the undersigned,
appeal to the Court to impose a harsh punishment
on the offender,
so as to deter others and help prevent further animal cruelty incidents
from happening.
Animals are unable to defend themselves
so we must all do our part to save them from acts of cruelty. "

Sigh.
You cannot imagine how mad I was when I read about this recent news.
The idiotic behaviour of mankind never fails to soar to new heights.
If only that fucker in this shameful scene
can at least have the decency and common sense to stop and ask themselves 'why?'
before committing such a stupid and mindless act.
I hope these people get locked up in a cell, forever.
They don't deserve to live,
yet dying will be too cheap an escape for them.
Sometimes, I feel so appalled and disgusted
I feel so ashamed to be a part of them,
a part of the human race.
These people could be walking free in the streets,
standing next to you or your loved ones,
and you wont be able to tell their true colors
till it comes out in the news.
Sometimes I just don't understand people.
You want to get a pet,
then TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT.
Feed it, play with it, and so on.
But part of the deal when having a living, breathing creature
who feels happy, sad, frighten, angry, and pain,
is to love it, take good care of it, cherish it, and protect it.
Man used to hunt&kill for food for survival, and nothing more.
However, somewhere down the road,
as we 'progressed', things changed.
We abuse our power,
and kill, murder, plunder, abuse...
excessively, for money, greed, vanity.
We no longer give a damn about life
or any other thing sharing the Earth with us.
We do not hesitate, not even for a split second,
when we rob another being's right to live.
We have indeed lost our basic sense of decency and reason.
We are the worse form of life on this planet.
The line is drawn.
The difference is clear.
There is no grey area, only white and black.
So which side are you on?
Will you just turn away, ignore all of these
and let these murder go on, year after year, after year?
Or will you take a stand, and do what you can?
Its your choice.
But let me tell you,
every single second we spent waiting, thinking, wondering, hesitating,
is another innocent, helpless animal dying.
Once again, and as usual,
I urge all kind souls reading this to take immediate action,
please don't let a second pass you by
without doing something about it.
Mankind should be much better than that.
